Any fans of the theater here? There are several in the state of New Jersey and I would like to highlight this one in particular. The Daress Theatre houses plenty of stage shows. Many of them have been reviewed very well. A lot of children’s theatre has been shown here. Plays such as “The Wizard of Oz” and “Heidi” have been performed. The theater not only presents well known shows, but it also presents new original plays. One of the musicals of note “Jack the Ripper”, based on the 1913 novel “The Lodger” has gained attention across the state for it’s operatic qualities.
The Daress is also screens independent films that you would not see otherwise. The Daress is sort of an underground place that has been around for a long time. The theater opened up its doors in 1919 and has been showing movies and plays ever since. It celebrates its heritage by showing classic movies for generations to come. They usually hold a classic horror film fest around Halloween, but they had to cancel because of Super Storm Sandy.
